Grok 3 is poised to make a significant impact, according to cyber expert Kurt Knutsson, who discussed Elon Musk’s assertion that this AI surpasses all its competitors on the show ‘Fox & Friends.’ With Grok now integrated into newer Tesla models, drivers can expect a more engaging experience. This advanced conversational AI will provide a companion-like presence during drives. Grok, developed by Musk’s xAI, is a unique AI chatbot known for its wit and conversational skills.
Its latest iteration, Grok 4, offers faster responses, sharper humor, and a greater understanding of context, enhancing the human-like interaction. Currently, Grok 4 is being incorporated into Tesla vehicles, making it feel more personable and relatable. However, Grok’s availability is limited to certain Tesla models. To use Grok, your Tesla must feature an AMD Ryzen processor, which is included in models manufactured from mid-2021 onward.
Additionally, the vehicle should have the software version 2025.26 or higher, along with a reliable Wi-Fi connection or Tesla’s Premium Connectivity plan. The rollout of Grok started on July 12, 2025, and is currently only available in the U.S. While newer Tesla models will have Grok ready to use, older models will require software updates to access the AI feature. If you’re uncertain whether your Tesla qualifies for Grok, simply navigate to the Control and Software sections on your vehicle’s touchscreen to check your processor and software version.
Overall, while Grok’s presence can make long drives more entertaining, its capabilities are still somewhat limited. Future updates could allow it to interact with vehicle controls, further enhancing the driving experience.
